Gave my dog two medications that caused gastrointestinal bleeding. They care more about money than helping your pet, even in an emergency. Go someplace that knows what they're doing and actually cares.
This all comes after a previous visit where I was charged over $40 for 1ml of saline to be injected into our hamster as the owners son, Dr. S said she was dehydrated and had wet tail. There was no way she was dehydrated and she did not have wet tail. I was concerned about a problem in her pouches as she stopped filling them as before. He said he wasn't an exotics specialist so he couldnt tell. He prescribed antibiotics just in case. After I confronted him about the diagnosis of wet tail and dehydration he removed the charge for the saline. But insisted she had wet tail because he saw a wet dropping on her rear. I told him of course, they dont come out dried up! The fact that she was making droppings clearly showed she didn't have wet tail ( diarrhea).
I took my cat in at 6:30 am because he was feeling ill. The place is supposed to be a 24 hour emergency vet. There was no Vet on until 8:30 which caused my cat much more stress waiting than the illness. They took weight and temperature readings and ultimately, blood work. $350 later, perfect blood work. You can find many cheaper options. My review is purely based on outrageous price for services rendered and does not reflect on the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.
Very friendly, knowledgeable and help me with my 3 puppies needs. I’ll Highly recommended to my friends.
So I was driving home this evening with Rob when we saw a dog laying in the middle of the road. Someone had just hit her and drove me.
We found out later that the dog was this families artistic child dog.
I ask anyone reading this that if you hit a animal or see a animal hit PLEASE pull over aid assistance .
This could be your best friend one day that needs help
Last we heard the dog was on life support.
I want to thank Valencia Veterinari Center for there compassion and everything they did without questions questions
I will NEVER go to this clinic again! They are unethical, uncaring, unprofessional and borderline inhumane.
The person that hit her left her to die. I use to volunteer for animal rescuce organizations and I am still amazed and completely perplexed how someone can hit a animal,,dog ,cat and just leave it.
What kind of human being can do this????
Our hamster, Cuddles had a swelling on her face that I expected was an abscess so I took her to Valencia Veterinary Clinic. The "exotics" vet said he would take a look to see if it was an abscess or a tumor. He came back with good news that it was an abscess and that he had "opened it up, cleaned and flushed it and injected her with an antibiotic". He prescribed the same antibiotic for me to give orally to her for 14 days. The bill, $130.
They just grabbed the dog and begain treating her. We found out ,it was a he and about a year and half old.
I brought Cuddles home and went to work. When I got home I was shocked to see her face swelled up far worse than it had been before she went to the clinic. There was no sign of an incision but instead just a small scab where a larger bore needle had been used to check for puss. There is no way that it could have been cleaned out and flushed properly as he had stated. There was no way that it could drain as the puncture hole would have sealed over immediately. I noticed it tonight because it had a tiny scab on it and it was streached by the inflamation and infection.
We stopped and blocked traffic from hitting her again. She or he was still alive. We grabbed a garment from our car and covered the dog and her eyes. We drove to nearest emergency Vet we could fiind. We were grateful that they took her, no questions asked, like who is paying for this , or we cannot treat her till financial arrangements can be meet.
I called the clinic I was refered to by Alina, the receptionist and they were amazing. They said they do not charge "emergency rates" and are open 24/7. She recommended a particular vet of theirs and said "just walk in, but it would be nice to know you are coming so please give us a call". They are All Creatures Veterinary Clinic in Newhall. I'll be dropping in on them tomorrow. I wish I could post a photo of poor Cuddles because to show the result of the treatment provided by Valencia Veterinary Clinic.
Well taken care of. Just got loose
I instantly called the clinic to let them know and asked if anyone could help. I was told "not until Monday". Today is Friday. They told me that the exotics vet was not available and the emergency vet "just does dogs". I asked the receptionist to contact the exotics vet but she said she couldn't. I asked to talk to the "dog vet" but she said he had an emergency. I asked for him to call me after he was done with it. No call came. I called back and the receptionist said the emergency vet said "he will not speak to someone if he didn't treat the animal" I E-mailed photos of Cuddles swollen face to the clinics address and insisted that they be sent to Dr. Slaton who treated her. On my third call the receptionist said she would forward the message. I have not heard from anyone. The receptionist recommended that I take Cuddles to All Creatures Veterinary Clinic in Newhall on Lyons as they have "All Creatures" in their name. She told me Valencia Veterinary Clinic is a Dog clinic and only treats exotics on certain days when Dr. Slaton is available. If anything goes wrong with the treatment, there is nobody to help you at any other time, there is no care or commitment to your animals after you leave their facility until that vet returns, and that might be 2 or more days.
